Born and raised in Bargarh, Odisha, Umesh comes from a lower-middle-class family. He completed his dual graduation from Sambalpur University in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Bachelor of Computer Application, followed by an MBA in Marketing. With over 20 years of experience in the I.T. training and business sector, Umesh has led and successfully completed various corporate and government projects in the last decade.

Aside from his professional accomplishments, Umesh is also a devoted family man. He is married to Sunita Chand, a lecturer in Education, and they have a 3-year-old daughter.

Umesh Chandra Satpathy started his career as a computer operator in the Civil Supplies Office in Bargarh, where he honed his skills in computer operations and technology.

From there, he pursued his passion for education by becoming a computer teacher at NICE Computer Education, where he had the opportunity to share his knowledge and inspire others. This experience solidified his commitment to using technology to improve education, and laid the foundation for his future work in the field.

Satpathy then pursued his career in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, joining Hinduja Global Solutions in Kolkata as a technical support executive. He excelled in this role, showcasing his strong sales and customer service skills, and quickly rose through the ranks.

After this, he joined HCL Infosystems as a Junior Sales Executive, where he gained valuable experience in the technology sector and honed his leadership skills. He was recognized for his contributions and was soon promoted to a higher position.

Satpathy's career in education technology took off when he was appointed as a DEO under the Students Academic Management System project of the Higher Education Department of the Government of Odisha. In this role, he played a critical role in developing and implementing a state-of-the-art educational management system, and helped to streamline the academic process for thousands of students.
